Fostering

We understand that deciding to foster a child is a huge decision to make. You will no doubt want to find out as much as possible about fostering, before making your mind up as to whether it’s right for you and your family.

Register an interest in adoption or fostering

We also realise that you’ve probably got a million and one questions that you’ll want to ask us. Not to mention various facts and figures that you’d like to check out too.

After all, in order to make an informed decision about any subject, you need to feel confident and knowledgeable. We want you to feel 100% reassured and happy that you know enough about fostering to want to take the next step along the road to becoming a foster carer.

We have used our experience to think of all the typical questions we’ve been asked over the years, in order to hopefully anticipate and answer many of the things that you would want to know.

If there are still some questions or issues that remain unanswered, don’t worry, call us. We’re always happy to talk you through any queries. Just call the Fostering Team on 0800 195 3175.

You can also learn more about fostering in general and how we’re working with other local councils to recruit more foster carers at www.youcanfoster.org.uk The ‘You Can Foster’ campaign aims to show that foster carers are as different and diverse as the children who need to be fostered. It’s another great source of information for you.

So, we really hope you remain interested in fostering, and look forward to hearing from you in the future.
