Treble Touch campaign
Email, text and voice message reminders about Council Tax bills.
To help residents stay on top of when their Council Tax payments are due, we’re sending regular email and text reminders to people who have fallen behind with their payments before the more formal notices are sent.
Text messages
The text messages will come from ‘HaltonBC’ and read ‘This is an important message from Halton Borough Council regarding your council tax payments.’
It then asks you to follow a link beginning ‘https://sms.halton.gov.uk’ for further information. Following that link will take you to a page with a security question to check your identity before giving you further instructions on your Council Tax account.
Emails
The email will be titled ‘Your account number Reminder – Do not ignore’ and will come from ‘email@ctrem.halton.gov.uk’ and will include instructions as to you what you need to do.
Automated voice messages
Calls will be made from 0151 511 6710 and the voice message will invite you to speak to us for help and support. We will need to ask you some security questions first.
If you receive any of these messages, we can confirm they are legitimate Halton Borough Council communications and ask you to act on the instructions detailed as soon as possible.
We offer this service to help stop residents from falling into further arrears on their Council Tax payments. It may not always be available. We remind you that you are responsible for making your Council Tax payments and keeping instalments up to date.
