Liverpool City Region Planning

Halton is a member of the Liverpool City Region Combined Authority (CA) together with Liverpool City, Knowsley, Sefton, St.Helens and Wirral Councils.  West Lancashire and Warrington Councils are associate members of the CA.  More information on how this affects planning is available 

Single Statutory (Strategic Spatial) Framework

The Devolution Agreement establishes the need to develop a Strategic Spatial Framework across the Combined Authority area. Officers across the six authorities have commenced work on this with the intention to prepare the Framework in three stages:

1. Interim (informal) framework pulling together the appropriate elements from existing Plans.
2. Align and where necessary commission a consistent evidence base.
3. Formal Strategic Spatial Framework.
